Tina’s: Thailand’s First New Orleans Fine-Dining Restaurant To Enrich Bangkok’s Bustling Culinary Scene

Discover a world of authentic Southern flavors and warm hospitality right in the heart of Sathorn

PRESS RELEASE: Bangkok, 23 April 2024 – Something unique and exciting has arrived in the vibrant culinary scene of Bangkok with the opening of Tina’s, Thailand’s first New Orleans contemporary fine-dining restaurant. Drawing inspiration from New Orleans, Louisiana’s tradition of culinary innovation, Tina’s menu is full of mouthwatering dishes that fuse French, Spanish, African, Native American, Italian, and Caribbean flavors. Guests will experience and enjoy a memorable culinary journey through the bold and diverse flavors of the Big Easy.

Nestled in the traditional yet charming and elegantly decorated venue on Soi Suan Phlu in Sathorn, Tina’s is the brainchild of Chef David Cleland, a seasoned culinary expert with two decades of experience. Chef David, originally from Lafayette, Louisiana, was deeply influenced by his mother Tina, a New Orleans native, and has set out to share his distinctive blend of culinary heritage with diners in Bangkok.

During the official opening of the restaurant, Tina’s Executive Chef & Owner, Chef David shared, “At Tina’s, we live by one constant idea, ‘Excellence Demands Love’. This mantra permeates every corner of who we are and how we operate. Our restaurant pays loving homage to my late mother, who epitomized the spirit of New Orleans hospitality. Her table was a place where people from all walks of life could come together over a lovingly prepared meal and forge lifelong friendships.”

He continued, “Being Thailand’s first New Orleans fine-dining restaurant, we are dedicated to delivering a truly authentic culinary experience, blending techniques and flavors to evoke the essence of Southern warmth and hospitality. Set against an elegant backdrop of traditional decor, we invite our guests to savor a unique fine dining journey that honors the rich cultural traditions of New Orleans. With every bite, we strive to tell a story of heritage, tradition and diversity.”

Tina’s menu highlights include the Louisiana-style ‘Shrimp and Grits’, featuring locally sourced sautéed prawns paired with bacon and crispy parmesan grit cakes; as well as the classic ‘Jambalaya’, a delectable blend of short grain rice, prawns, chicken, andouille sausage, herbs, tomato and spices.

Guests can also indulge in buttermilk biscuits with smoked Creole pimento cheese and chili jam; or taste the heart and soul of Louisiana in a bowl – ‘Gumbo’ made with shrimp, duck, and andouille sausage served over steamed rice; or a mouthwatering 1.4 kg American prime bone-in ribeye basted in smoked and spiced butter, served with four housemade side sauces – Creole bearnaise, horseradish cream, herb salsa verde, and Tina’s signature homemade Worcestershire sauce.

Elaborating on his inspiration for the menu, Chef David concluded, “New Orleans is blessed with many culinary influences, including French, Spanish, African, Native American, Italian and Caribbean. In the local kitchens, these cultures intertwine to create flavors and dishes that are boldly unique. Our dishes honor this diversity and embrace the city’s infamous vibrant and rich cultural and culinary heritage.”

Tina’s is open for dinner (5.30pm to 11.30pm) from Tuesday to Sunday, and invites food lovers to come enjoy a delicious bowl of gumbo and experience the famous New Orleans hospitality right in the heart of Bangkok.

Complimentary parking is also provided close by at Somerset Park Suan Phlu Bangkok.
